Ho-lee-crap. Steam buckets. Steam buckets. Steam buckets. Maybe I am a little too enthusiastic about steam buckets...but steam buckets. Take a look at their menu and you will see a $28 monster of a seafood bucket that is worth your time. Corn on the cob? You never see corn on the cob on menus! 2lbs of seafood and another 1-2lbs of veggies. Sunset Cove is a fantastic restaurant that offers indoor and outdoor seating. I highly recommend outdoor seating. Some nights there are live bands but it's the atmosphere and food that brings you back. The food is phenomenal and their mixed drinks are also really great (check out the boozey lemonades!). I feel like their menu is small, but the bonus of a small menu means that it' easier to pick and that the kitchen really knows those few items well. When it's a beautiful day out nothing is better than coming here, getting an outdoor seat, a giant bucket of seafood and veggies, and have drinks coming your way. You can sit on their deck and overlook the water or you can go down to the first level and have your feet in the sand on the "beach" level while you eat and drink. They have valet parking and also parking a little bit of a walk away. On busy nights parking can be difficult, but it's certainly worth it. You can also park your boat if you are coming from the water, but the parking in limited here too. It might be worth your time to get a reservation for dinner on the weekends, especially around holidays. Keep your eyes out for the local wildlife as well. We've seen ducks sitting on eggs behind bar signs, rabbits dodging puddles, heron fishing, and the occasional obnoxious goose that comes begging for fries or looking to nap under your table. This all adds to the charm of the location. I cannot say how the atmosphere feels during the colder months, but during warmer weather this place is great!

Sunset Cove is a restaurant located on the water where you can drive up with your boat and dock. We docked here on a Saturday night mid July around 7:30pm. The wait time was 2 1/2 - 3 hours so we decided to pass and go to a restaurant up the street The place was crowded, staff was friendly. This is a great hang out spot for the younger crowd as they have a big outdoor bar and seating to hang out and socialize while you wait for your table. I've been told that they make a great crab cake sandwich but prices have been rising. I will be back at some point. Call ahead for reservations or you will be very upset!

This is a great little find hidden right in Bowley's Quarters. My wife and I arrived at about 6 p.m. on a Saturday. They had attendants there helping you find your way to a parking space. We were immediately seated outside right on the water. Our waitress was friendly and helpful. The band started playing at 7 p.m. so we got to enjoy some live music to boot. My bacon cheeseburger was about as good as they come and my wife's grilled Romaine was excellent. We're definitely coming back.

I really love the idea of this place and the location is off the beaten trail which makes it even more desirable but the food is just okay and the service left something to be desired not to mention that our server looked like he just ran a marathon when we greeted us - he was sweaty and a little out of breath - not the best first impression. They also told us that it would be a 2 hour wait on a table in the sand so we went inside and asked for a table on the balcony and were seated immediately so who cares if our feet weren't in the sand while we were eating. They do have great drink specials if you are interested and really loud music - think Jersey Shore or Seacrets!!!

OUR EXPERIENCE: We do come back about once a year for a fix of white trash ambiance. Always disappointed by the absurd wait for a table. PROS: A place drink, people watch, and/or hook-up (take your pick ... not sure if any of these constitute "Pros"). CONS: Expect to wait a REALLY long time (always more than an hour or two) for a table. Food is average at best. FOOD: Mostly deep fried Diner style food. Average at best. AMBIANCE: Very casual, outside is in the sand. Marina view, near the end of Martins Field runway. SERVICE: Attentive enough. CLEANLINESS: Assuming you are outside (hey it rains ... clean enough). COST: Average ($$). TIPS: Outside bar is cash only. Not sure if they take reservations.

We have been here plenty of times. It's usually with a group of people. Always had a good time there, so my g/f and I went there Sunday night cause she wanted to eat outside, by the waters. Carson's was way too busy and no seating anywhere outside for at least an hour. I suggested we go down the street, at Sunset Cove. When we got there, it was even more busier than Carson's. We were told the wait is about 45 mins for outside seating on the sand. So we approached the bar for a drink while waiting. One bar only takes cash, okay, no problem. Another bar takes cash or cards, so off we went. The bartender was about mid 40's, looks like a gym rat, heavily tanned. My g/f ordered a fruity drink, while I had a miller. Not sure for what reason, he slammed the miller's bottle on the bar, which cause the beer to foam and overflow. That was weird. We waited for over an hour, then decided to put our name down for the indoor seating instead. Apparently, it's 2 different lists for outside and inside, sure, no problem. Meanwhile, we kept our name on the outside seating, just a test to see which one would open up first. We only waited for less than 10 mins, we already got our seats. It was on the deck, outside! The server was good, knows her menu well. The food came out rather quickly. It was okay in my g/f's opinion. Overall experience this time was mixed. Maybe because it was a holiday weekend with the seating, but that one bartender is just flat out weird.

This was hands down the most disappointing experience in recent memory. It started off well enough. The scene and vibe are cool. I rode out to Sunset Cove with a friend and we walked out onto the sand, put our names in, and sat on the dock for about 20 minutes and waited to be called. So far so good. We tried a couple of orange crushes on special for $5 each and they were good...not much to screw up on a drink consisting of orange vodka, sweet orange liquor, orange juice, and Sprite. This crush was tasty and refreshing as expected. We were called and shown to our table. The service was great. Our server was friendly and attentive. Everything happened quickly and pleasantly. Once we ordered things went downhill. We tried the Rockfish Tenders based on a recommendation from a friend. These were gross. These were 4 large hunks of white fish with a THICK tempura batter and a generic chipotle mayo dipping sauce that tasted like it came out of a 5 gallon jug. Presentation was nonexistent. The hunks were laid out on top of some wilted lettuce with no other color beside the bland brown of the fish and the dull green of the lettuce. Even the dipping sauce came on a separate plate, further breaking up the presentation. Admittedly, and similarly to the crush, these tasted good, but they were deep fried heavily battered fish...they tasted like deep fried. There was absolutely no subtlety or hint of creativity present. Next came our Hurricane burger with mushrooms, onion, provolone, and creamy horseradish. This was bad from before it even hit the table. It literally took 10 minutes max from the time the waitress left with our order until she returned with our burger. I've worked in restaurants for over 10 years...this was clearly either someone else's returned order or had just been sitting in the window. It showed when we bit in...our medium rare burger was medium well to well done...no pink anywhere. It was still juicy and the vibe, to be mentioned next, was grating and we didn't want to take the extra time to send the burger back. So our overcooked burger was still juicy but had no flavor whatsoever. My dining partner tried a bite of just the burger without toppings or bun and said it was horrible, tasting like someone had cooked it unseasoned in a oven. The "creamy horseradish" tasted like mayo, nothing more. In one bite I did taste a hint of horseradish but that was just one bite...the rest tasted like it was slathered with mayo, which I hate on my burgers and would have asked them to leave off if I had known the horseradish flavor was so light as to be unnoticeable. The fries were very good. Crispy and abundant. Now the final straw that made us flee back into the city. Sunset Cove is a chill island-themed bar on the bay complete with sand and frequent live music. Think Seacrets of Ocean City in Middle River. But the music they were playing sounded like hype up music you might hear at the end of the night at a bad night club as the DJ tries to raise the energy of the crowd as last call approaches. I felt like I should be in dark, steamy room with bubbles falling from the ceiling. Song after poppy loud grating song passed over us as we longed for anything reggae, country, classic rock, anything mellow that would fit with sand in my toes, a boat drink in my hand, and an afternoon on the bay spread out in front of me. It was such a shame. We went with such high hopes that were completely shattered. My friend says she'll give it another shot. I will not. Why go 25 minutes for overpriced tasteless food and a poor vibe and have to worry about driving when I can walk down to any number of bars and restaurants in Fells and along Boston Street and get the same overpriced food on the water but without the bad music and commute. I suggest you do the same. It's not worth the trip. Stay local. And if Sunset Cove is local, make the trip elsewhere and actually enjoy your Sunday afternoon in the sun.

We've never eaten with out toes in the sand other than at beaches with waves rolling in. I was concerned this might just be a 'gimmick" themed restaurant with mediocre food. I'm so glad the owners of Sunset Cove know that without good food, diners will try the place once and never return. While we did enjoy looking at on the water with a nice breeze keeping us cool, we also enjoyed the food and plan to return again. 3 of us had salads - cool and refreshing, and lots of variety and interesting dressing choices. The other diner decided to try the bar food - a cheeseburger and fries. All of us enjoyed the food, the view, and digging our toes in the sand during our meal. Next visit we'll test the kitchen with more variety and try some of the drinks to make the experience complete.

Menu includes all the Maryland essentials - crab cakes, fish tacos, etc. Food is not bad but view and setting is excellent! Dip your toes in the sand and watch the boats drift on the Chesapeake Bay. We went on a Wednesday night and it was pretty busy. I heard it's pretty packed on the weekends. Not what you expect for a restaurant and bar tucked away near a residential neighborhood. They serve drinks in plastic cups so don't expect anything fancy and you won't be disappointed.

Favorite place to go in the summer! Beautiful scenery, amazing drinks, and great company! My favorite drinks are the orange crushes and traditional fishbowls, which are two for one on Tuesdays. My favorite menu items are the chicken jetty sandwich and crab nachos. You can make reservations on the deck and inside, but not on the beach. I recommend this if you're going with a large group for a meal. If you're looking to hang out the beach is the best place, but there is a two hour limit. The best time to hang out is on a Sunday afternoon. Weekend nights can be a lot of fun, but prepare for long waits to be sat/food delivered and nightmare parking. Blueberry crushes are nasty as is the pasta salad. Scuba Steve at the tiki bar is the best bartender. I think that's all for now! In summary: Great place, just be prepared to be patient! It'll be worth it!

Well, it's not Sequoia at Georgetown Harbor, but it's comfortable, cozy and very friendly. The food is decent and reasonably priced, as are the drinks. But the best thing about this place is the friendly atmosphere and the sense of comradery one feels while visiting here. It's a great place to unwind on a Friday evening after a long work week. If you're looking for something similar to what you might find in Baltimore or Washington, you're probably going to be disappointed with this place. But if you just want to relax, have a drink along with some friendly conversation, this is a pretty good place to get that done.

Scrolling through the internet, I found this place. 45 minute drive, parking on the grass. Didn't mind because I didn't have to pay, so that was okay to me. Took the whole family with me. The building is a big house, that has been converted into a nice restaurant. You have the option to eat indoors or outdoors. We went on Sunday night, they had a Dee Jay and they have a dance platform, to get your dance own. Me and the family had a variety of food. From the Quesada's with crab, to the stuff shrimp, the crabs dip with fries and chicken wings everything was great. I especially enjoyed my chicken cheesesteak that I couldn't finish and had to take home but finished it the next day. It was so much chicken on that sandwich it was crazy. We passed around food like we were at a reunion. I especially enjoyed my coconut mojito. Great spot, Great prices, and great atmosphere. Will definitely be back again

I was disappointed that there was a $5.00 cover charge. I don't drink, but I was with two friends that did have one drink each. I think if you go straight to the restaurant they don't make you pay the $5.00 cover charge. There is sand everywhere outside to make it have a beachy theme and there is a pier. If you take a drink out on the pier you have to drink it all or throw it away before you can come off the pier and back onto the sand. There was a band, but I didn't think they played that long and I barely listened to them. The wait for a table outside was one hour. We waited for a little while and then asked to be put on the wait list for a table inside the restaurant. That didn't take too long. I thought the prices were a little expensive. I was annoyed that a side salad is an up charge to add as a side and the waitress didn't tell me until I saw it on my bill. I didn't even like the salad because I like iceberg lettuce and this had some kind of weird lettuce. All in all it is an okay place if you like to eat and/or drink on the water, but it isn't one of my favorite places. It is a trendy place to hang out and maybe I just don't fit in since I am in my 30's and don't drink.

I came here for lunch in the middle of the week. So it wasn't hopping and it wasn't sunset. However, they did have quite a few tables in the sand filled with umbrellas and a view of the water. Our server was quick to greet us, quick to get us water, but did have to be reminded of refills. We both had salads, I had the Key West and my friend had the Tilghman Island. Very large and the dressings appeared to be house made. Not a 5 star restaurant as some people have already noted but that's ok. String lighting above the tables probably makes for a nice ambiance at night. I'd love to go back as the sun goes down. I have heard it can be the "Middle River version of Seacrets" which would be disappointing. I'd like a nice classy place by the water to go hang.

Fun place but rude hostesses and incredibly long waits. We were quoted a 90 minute wait but we were not seated after three hours. Never again! I'm telling friends/family/coworkers, too! Stay away unless you like condescending college brats! My group of six people show up on a busy Saturday evening after a pre-arrival call told us that there was a 45 minute wait. Cool. We can enjoy the fine weather. However, arriving 15 minutes later, this wait had suddenly multiplied and we were quoted two hours to be seated. Okay, I know it's busy. We enjoy the outdoor bar for over an hour. The Margarita I had was pretty darn good and the bartender was quick and courteous. Good times. THEN...the bad stuff started to happen. After two hours had come and gone, a member of our group asked the hostess how long our wait was. She was told 45 minutes. We were not happy but understood. Then when asked about why the wait was so long, she blamed the wait staff, saying "If the servers are making money, why would they want customers to leave...they aren't trying to get customers to leave because they keep buying things." Not exactly the best thing to say, but we tried to overcome this (plus the wait). Finally, 55 minutes after this second discussion, we were seated. The hostess took us to our table without saying a word and literally threw the menus on the table, with at least two menus ending up on the ground (we were seated outside). She made ZERO effort to even apologize, pick up the menus, or wipe them off (did I mention they touched actual dirt/sand?). She stormed off with no verbal interaction. I could have gotten up and left at this point. The hostesses are clearly unprofessional, stuck-up, and disrespectful. The rest of our experience was somewhat better. My wife had the Honey Bear Wrap, which was good but smaller than a Subway wrap, I had Jerk Chicken and a huge portion of french fries, which was good, and the rest of the party had burgers, which were noted as being good but not spectacular. Our waiter was excellent and was a big part of salvaging this visit. I cannot recommend this place to eat, all because of the long wait and the incredibly disrespectful hostesses. It's as if they knew the wait was longer, but wanted our business, so lying was a good idea to them. If you want a few drinks with friends, it's a good spot. Just don't expect to be treated like a human being while getting seated. Pros: Views/Theme, bartender was excellent, food was good but not excellent, good server. Cons: HORRIBLE HOSTESSES, extremely long waits on weekends, children often will swim off of the dock, which does make the seats wet sometimes.

Food is just average in my opinion. I got the billyburger which looked great, but just wasn't rich in flavor. The tomatoes on it were probably the worst part as they weren't ripe and completely lacked flavor. The environment there is great when the weather is warm. Great beach feel with outdoor tables and a deck, along with a dock to bring your boat and tie up.

We've been here twice now, I'm not sure we'll make it back for a third visit. The location is very nice, right on the water which is pleasant on a good day. The service is just awful and there is usually a wait for a table. We arrived on a Sunday for lunch and were seated on the deck because the tables below were full. It was clear that food was not coming out of the kitchen very fast. It took 45 minutes after we ordered for our french fry appetizer, another 15 for our lunch. The food wasn't awful, but nothing special. We had to flag down our server when we needed anything. I don't know if she was just bad or if they were short staffed and she was just too busy. I'll try to find another similar place in the area.

There aren't any tables in the water, but everything else resembles a Mini-Seacrets on the Bay... Sunset Cove is right on the Water with Sand, lots of Palm Trees for Shade, an Outdoor Tiki Bar, an Outdoor Pit Beef Grill, live music, friendly bar tenders & wait staff, and friendly dock hands to easily get you in and out even when the boats are rafted 5-wide off their 300 foot pier. For all of those yelpers that constantly give dock bars bad reviews expecting Mario Batali or Wofgang Puck to be sipping an orange crush back in the kitchen while preparing their meal, this is the one dock bar in all of Maryland that might surprise you... Try the Mango Salsa covered Rockfish Tacos (Rocko's Tacos), or their Chesapeake Seafood bake in a puff pastry, or their fall of the bone Caribbean Ribs slathered in Bahamian Ju Ju sauce. Definitely not the typical bar food one comes to expect at a typical Chesapeake Bay dock bar. And if you want a signature drink with along with one of their signature dishes. Try their giant margarita for two with an upside down Corona precariously balanced in the glass or one of their fishbowl drinks. BEWARE... This place is POPULAR. So if you're coming by car or even boat, arrive early if you want to find a spot to park

MY ADVICE do not go here for dinner when a band is playing outside. Memorial weekend we were asked to PAY A $5 COVER TO EAT IN THE DINING ROOM! Yes, I even called and spoke with the manager to ask why this tacky policy was suddenly required for dinner quests when we never had to pay before. Maybe if you were going to the sandy area and bar but not for the dining room. I was told that the band for Memorial weekend 2015 was "very expensive" and Sunset Cove was passing the cost to customers. UGH! They were telling dinner guests that we could be refunded if you take your receipt to the guy collecting the $5 AND PROVE you were in the restaurant only. OMG how embarrassing for our group of friends and relatives. We ended up leaving. They lost some loyal dinner customers with that dumb idea, and honestly, they don't make enough on the drinks from the beach crowd over a holiday weekend to compensate for the band cost? My suggestion, build customers and hire a cheaper band.

Food was good and tastym We sat outside. Service was great. Two things that lost stars however. My miller draft was about room temperature. I oredered the burger that has onion straws and crab meat. It was very good, however, there was little to no crab meat or onion straws. It was what i would call "a pinch". like you would use for salt in a recipe. wasnt even enough onion straws or crab meat to spread across the burger to have some in every bite. Shame, when I was able to taste the crab and straws it made the burger better than just your run of the mill cheeseburger.

Cool story bro, did you meet on Match? Nope... not this time! I have this rule of dating.. one that requires I try and steer clear of my older brother's friends. I put this rule into place considering that the last two bros of his just didn't seem to work out and it put a strain on my brother's friendships. But then again... when do I ever listen to my own voice of reason? Although I must admit that I am not at fault for initiating conversation or "creepin"... this guy went straight to the source (my bro) to gain the scoop on little ol' me. So when he messaged me, well (of course) I responded. We have talked for a wee while now, and although on the face of it he wasn't the usual kind of guy I'd normally go for, I knew pretty early on that he'd be an evening well spent regardless of whether there was any chemistry or not. I mean...he'd been playful and we'd already had some solid banter through text - so I figured and hoped that it would at least be an enjoyable evening out. I let him have the choice of where to meet, in which he responded Sunset Cove since he was there already for a birthday party. I'd say the destination worked out rather well because I needed a break from the big city. I met him outside the bar and to my overwhelming relief, he looked exactly like his picture. He was very cute, wearing a backward O's cap.. which could melt this Baltimorean girl's heart. Sunset Cove provided wonderful scenery - located right on a sandy man-made beach with a moving dock for boats and jet skis to pull right on up. The bar was open and airy and the crowd wasn't too rowdy for a Monday night. Because his friends were celebrating Birthday Shenanigans, drama was sure to escalate but he kept a pretty calm demeanor through it all. Upon sitting down he grabbed me a menu from the bar, introduced me to all his friends and asked if I wanted a drink. Nice - clearly not too frightened of me at second sight to commit to more than one drink. I unusually ordered (for me, at least) a cheesesteak with chips. It was absolutely on point. The meat wasn't dry, the bread was toasted just right and there were onions and peppers on this somewhat greasy, yet delectable sandwich goddess. The atmosphere allowed for pretty solid conversation, which covered a lot of mutual ground, law enforcement, careers, cheating girlfriends and how awful I am about keeping a serious straight face. So when it was time to close down the date, he walked me to my car, bantered about my unlikelihood to hold a straight face and walked away. No hug? Well I guess that went well? Rather I just jumped into my car and rode off into the sunset alone. Will there be another meet and greet with this guy? Well.. let's keep things light and I'll keep you posted. All in all, Sunset Cove is a local bar that provides unique scenery, good cheesesteak's and an inviting atmosphere. It is definitely a place for groups, but if you can manage to pull off a date here - that dude may be a keeper.

My wife and son went to Sunset cover this past weekend. I had wanted to go for a while because of the cool location. It was a great experience. Beautiful setting. Although they dropped the ball on our spot on the wait list for a table (they forgot to transfer our name from an old page to a new one), when I asked about the problem, they gave us the next table (about 1 minute later). The waiter (Greg, I think) was very attentive despite having a lot of tables in his area. My drink was never empty. The food was timely. No problem getting the check or paying. The food was good. I had the crab cake sandwich. I didn't find a single shell in the crabcake. And, it was a good size. My wife got he salmon. She really loved the green sauce on it. Lastly, my son left his iphone on the table. Didn't notice until we were home, and we don't live close by. I called when we got home, and they immediately identified the phone for us and told us they would keep it in a safe place until we could get back. VERY NICE! I'll definitely go back whenever the weather is nice. Highly recommend. Thanks Sunset!

If you've read my reviews before - you know I tell the "Good" the "Bad" & the "Ugly"! I was tempted to only give this place ONE STAR but gave it TWO for the following reasons: 1-Star for: LOCATION - this place is located on the water with a dock for boaters and has an outdoor seating area with sand and palm trees. They also have live music on the weekends. It's very nice to hang out for a few drinks. TIP: Jason S. - their bartender in the Pit beef hut is awesome! Go see him - he makes great orange crushes!!! 1-Star for: FRIED GREEN TOMATOES - my fiance and I absolutely LOVED this appetizer. It was a bit pricier then I would have expected, but the lump crab and cream sauce combined with the crispy perfectly fried green tomatoes just melts in your mouth. Now for the BAD & the UGLY: PARKING - We did NOT have a reservation and arrive by car around 6:00 PM. Although there were (and I counted) a total of 7 open parking spaces right in the restaurants parking lot (and I'm not talking about the parking lot reserved for boaters) we were made to park up the street in the yard of a home nearby. It did not cost us to park, but I am recovering from a broken foot and needless to say this was a MAJOR inconvenience and pointless when so many close parking spots were available. It should be "first come first served"! STRIKE ONE! SERVICE - as I mentioned, we did not have a reservation. We were told there was a 25 - 35 minute wait for a table. No problem! We took the pager they offered us and trucked it outside to the tiki bar and had a drink while waiting. We waited about 25 minutes and the pager went off. Great - we were starving and they kept it within the time frame they stated. So we are seated. And we wait...and we wait...15 minutes later our waitress (who walked past us 5 times earlier) finally came over to take our drink order...said she would "be right back" to take our food order. 30 minutes later we had to go find her. She admittedly FORGOT about us and she offered to buy us drinks on the house. Ok - this happens every once in a while - everyone has a bad day...so we cut her some slack....but nevertheless STRIKE TWO! KITCHEN - I ordered the following: App. - Fried Green Tomatoes, Ent. - Grilled Romaine Salad with Blackened Chicken. My Fiance Ordered: App. - Bacon Wrapped Shrimp Ent. - Conch Chowder We waited, and waited, watched two other table be seated AFTER we placed our order, watched them BOTH receive their food...still waited...I had had ENOUGH. I requested the manager. He apologized and followed up with the kitchen. 10 minutes later out came our food. FRIED GREEN TOMATOES - No complaint! They were awesome. BACON WRAPPED SHRIMP - Good flavor but this dish was obviously sitting at the pass under heaters as the BBQ sauce was dry and sticky on top. CONCH CHOWDER - Couldn't find ONE piece of Conch in the chowder. Tasted more like Maryland Crab soup without the Crab. GRILLED ROMAINE SALAD W/ BLACKENED CHICKEN - The salad had a great flavor but it was served WITHOUT MY CHICKEN! Ughh...the last straw. MANAGER - We spoke to the manager again and complained about the overall experience. He apologized but offered nothing more. No discount - no drink - no "Here's 20% off your next Bill - please come back and try us again...just I'm sorry. Well Sunset Cove - I am SORRY too but beyond drinks in the sand and some fried green tomatoes IF we come by boat...you will not be seeing us as regulars in your restaurant. STRIKE THREE!!

My buddy and I come here for the cheap, tasty steaks on Mondays and Wednesdays. The place looks great outside with the beach/dockside decor; the interior is okay, but at least the plentiful HD screens are nice. The wait staff are friendly. At night, the long pier in the back is awesome.

A hidden gem. When the weather is nice and the Nazis don't show up, it's a near-perfect spot to spend an evening. Yes, the first time I went, actual Nazis with actual swastika tattoos and swastika patches on their motorcycle vests showed up. What a downer. It must suck to be the world's biggest party-poopers. But the second and third visits were hate-free (or pride-free, for you racists). Nice soft sand underfoot. Orange and grapefruit crushes, beers, and other cocktails. Tiki bar. Great view of the water. Solid food with normal prices. You might catch a DJ or local band. Good times. Don't come for fast food in a hurry. Come to while away an evening with friends and watch the sun go down.

Based on the other reviews I read, they must have revamped their service, I went here with my girlfriend and we absolutely loved it here, the outdoor seating in the sand was a pleasant touch to the experience, made us not want to leave because it was so relaxing to have your feet in the sand! Drinks were decently priced and the crushes were amazing. Service was maybe a little slow, but based on the mass of people, it really wasn't terrible, our sever checked on us every chance he had and when we ordered our food, it was at our table within 20 minutes. We ordered the mussels, which were the biggest mussels I've ever had, And they were amazing, didn't try anything else but by creeping on the other tables, all the food looked great. Definitely give this place a shot if you love dining near the water with sand between your toes!

One thing we cannot argue about this place is the location and scenario!!!! Great place to watch the sunset and feel that you are not in a city, but rather in a little vacation somewhere. Having said that, the customer service sucks... OMG... it takes FOREVER for you to be seen by a waiter, and then forever for your order to come!!! I understand that in the nice weather seasons the place is packed, but please, in this case HIRE more people and give only two tables to each one of them, so they can FOCUS and give better attention to the customers. The food is right!!!! They salads are really good and the fried green tomatoes almost perfect!!!! The other down side is the MUSIC... sometimes it is SO FREAKING LOUD, we can't barely talk and instead of relaxing and enjoying the little paradise, you end up stressed and feeling in a stupid drunk college kid movie. Please SUNSET COVE... hire more people for this Spring/Summer 2014 and turn down the volume of your insanely overly loud speakers. Besides that, it is a nice place to go!!!!

My cousin and I put together a 30th birthday celebration at Sunset Cove for my other cousin this past Friday night. It went off without a hitch! Scott and Jackie were so helpful in making sure our tables were set up on the beach, they provided us with two wonderful servers who kept the madness straight. The food was good and brought out quickly. The kept our cake and cupcakes cold and brought them out when we wanted them. It was a great night. I will be returning. I agree with Billy F.---This is a hidden gem! I'm a big fan of the Sunset Cove! The staff is always friendly and the food is outstanding! Don't forget the weekly steak specials!!!! Great food at great prices! If you're looking for a great Summertime atmosphere to enjoy the fresh air, Sunset Cove is the place to be! With it's own waterfront and beach area, outside bar and great live music, this is the place to be! During the winter hours, Sunset Cove is working hard to make the you just as comfortable with indoor and outdoor deck seating. The deck is a nice size and is enclosed with a vinyl enclosure. Outdoor heaters are set up to keep you nice and toasty and trust me, they do work. I've sat under or near them--they work! Sunset Cove has an indoor bar that is a decent size and they have tv's to watch the local sports teams. I frequent the Sunset Cove nearly every week and bring my family. Overall, the food is excellent and the prices are fantastic. Manager Chuck and his crew are doing an outstanding job of renovating the facility and it looks like bigger and better things are to come. Overall, you should have an enjoyable time at Sunset Cove!

Sunset Cove has great food and drinks. I had the very berry salad for $11 and it was HUGE. I thought the price was a little high but I was impressed when it came out. You could easily split it between 3 people. My mom had the Rocko's Tacos (rockfish tacos with a mango topping) and they were really good! The drinks were great as well. I'm a huge fan of the sunfish which is one of their "skinny" drinks with vodka and simple syrup. The atmosphere at sunset is really nice and I'll go back again for sure.

The customer service of the manager and staff was so unbearable that I cancelled my reservation for 30 people!!! Having worked in the restaurant biz for the majority of my life, I was shocked and so disappointed that a place that is only open seasonally would be so callous about catering a birthday party on a Saturday night. First, they said they would take the reservation and work with us on the budget but told us it was a "mystery" buffet and they didn't know what would be available but it was $25 per person. And then when I asked for more details on the menu, their response was that they don't normally do reservations this large... Like they were doing us a favor! ...Regardless, the reservation was cancelled and I WILL NEVER go to this place!

Had a wonderful late lunch here with friends on a Sunday adternoon around 1:00. We sat at a table on the beachcg and had great service. We ordered a round of drink, and then shortly ordered our meals. We decided on the Veggie wrap, Grilled Romaine salad with crabcake, the Guido Italian Cold cut and the Fried Green Tomatos as a lunch instead of appetizer. The Grilled Romaine salad with crabcake was wonderful it came with mozzarella, tomatoes, parm cheese, and drizzled with balsamic vinegar, the crabcake was perfect, not too much filler. The Veggie Wrap was very good as well. The Italian Coldcut was very dry and nit a favorite. The Fried Green tomatoes came with crabmeat ontop with a light cream sauce, it was enough for a smaller person to eat for lunch. We really enjoyed our lunch and stayed for a few more rounds of drinks. They have indoor seating as well and pretty decent outdoor bathroom facilities. If you come by boat they have docking available but the place seems to be very popular. We will be back!

Stopped in on the Saturday over Memorial Day weekend. After entering we were confused as to how to proceed because the hostess(we'll call her "sunshine") who looked depressed or hungover wasn't very eager to help us. I wanted to wave a smelling salt just to make sure she was alive. So we were given a beeper and told to wait. So we went to the bar for a beverage. I went back to the hostess desk to ask if the pager would vibrate when ready, cause of course I wasn't instructed. And with a brief nod as she looked up from her iphone I was confirmed. At this point I thought I was being punk'd. So we were finally seated after a reasonable wait. And our dinner service was good considering business level. Food was very good and Tom, our server, was friendly and as attentive as can be expected. As we left I glanced at "sunshine" one last time and had to laugh. Thank goodness my expectations were risen after my first impressions of Sunset Cove.

On the fence between 3 and 4 stars, and went w) 3 just because they didn't truly achieve a 4. Went w) wifey and another couple (by boat... they have a dock!) to celebrate wifey getting bonus at work, and to thank our neighbors for taking good care of our cats while we were away. We got one appetizer to share, and a variety of entrees ranging from dinner salad to pasta to ribs. All was good but not great. Ribs were very spicy, as I can attest! Prices seemed a tad high for the food, being that nothing was particularly outstanding. Salad especially seemed overpriced, though it was large and nicely done. I was pleasantly surprised that they had some decent craft ales on draught (VERY rare in the burbs of eastern Baltimore County, which are dominated by domestic crap!), though one was unfortunately out. Waitress was good with attentiveness - especially for drinks, go figure - but was pretty daft when it came to menu knowledge. All in all, a pretty good place to eat for this neck o' the woods, as long as you don't mind paying a few extra bucks for entrees. Didn't really note the sandwich pricing.

We went on a Saturday afternoon for lunch. The hostess was a little short on personality, but promptly showed us to our table on the beach. It was a very nice crowd. Almost every table was occupied. Our server, I think her name was Christy, was prompt and courteous. She was incredibly fast in getting our drinks to us. We each had a sandwich. I had the roasted portabella and vegetable sandwich and my friend got the cubana sandwich. Both were delicious. I skipped the fries which looked fabulous at the next table. I asked for the Mediterranean pasta salad. It was a little heavy on the dressing, but, I ate every last bite. Great flavor. When our drinks were low, our server showed up and was back with another round before we finished our last sip. Obviously, that's very important to me. I was impressed with how many servers and bussers there were. They all moved around quickly and efficiently. The tables were cleared and cleaned as soon as they were vacated. It's so nice to see this place run properly, finally! It's such a great location, but I gave up going back in the past because the food always sucked. I look forward to going back while the weather is still nice.

Ho-lee-crap. Steam buckets. Steam buckets. Steam buckets. Maybe I am a little too enthusiastic about steam buckets...but steam buckets. Take a look at their menu and you will see a $28 monster of a seafood bucket that is worth your time. Corn on the cob? You never see corn on the cob on menus! 2lbs of seafood and another 1-2lbs of veggies. Sunset Cove is a fantastic restaurant that offers indoor and outdoor seating. I highly recommend outdoor seating. Some nights there are live bands but it's the atmosphere and food that brings you back. The food is phenomenal and their mixed drinks are also really great (check out the boozey lemonades!). I feel like their menu is small, but the bonus of a small menu means that it' easier to pick and that the kitchen really knows those few items well. When it's a beautiful day out nothing is better than coming here, getting an outdoor seat, a giant bucket of seafood and veggies, and have drinks coming your way. You can sit on their deck and overlook the water or you can go down to the first level and have your feet in the sand on the "beach" level while you eat and drink. They have valet parking and also parking a little bit of a walk away. On busy nights parking can be difficult, but it's certainly worth it. You can also park your boat if you are coming from the water, but the parking in limited here too. It might be worth your time to get a reservation for dinner on the weekends, especially around holidays. Keep your eyes out for the local wildlife as well. We've seen ducks sitting on eggs behind bar signs, rabbits dodging puddles, heron fishing, and the occasional obnoxious goose that comes begging for fries or looking to nap under your table. This all adds to the charm of the location. I cannot say how the atmosphere feels during the colder months, but during warmer weather this place is great!

Sunset Cove is a restaurant located on the water where you can drive up with your boat and dock. We docked here on a Saturday night mid July around 7:30pm. The wait time was 2 1/2 - 3 hours so we decided to pass and go to a restaurant up the street The place was crowded, staff was friendly. This is a great hang out spot for the younger crowd as they have a big outdoor bar and seating to hang out and socialize while you wait for your table. I've been told that they make a great crab cake sandwich but prices have been rising. I will be back at some point. Call ahead for reservations or you will be very upset!

This is a great little find hidden right in Bowley's Quarters. My wife and I arrived at about 6 p.m. on a Saturday. They had attendants there helping you find your way to a parking space. We were immediately seated outside right on the water. Our waitress was friendly and helpful. The band started playing at 7 p.m. so we got to enjoy some live music to boot. My bacon cheeseburger was about as good as they come and my wife's grilled Romaine was excellent. We're definitely coming back.

I really love the idea of this place and the location is off the beaten trail which makes it even more desirable but the food is just okay and the service left something to be desired not to mention that our server looked like he just ran a marathon when we greeted us - he was sweaty and a little out of breath - not the best first impression. They also told us that it would be a 2 hour wait on a table in the sand so we went inside and asked for a table on the balcony and were seated immediately so who cares if our feet weren't in the sand while we were eating. They do have great drink specials if you are interested and really loud music - think Jersey Shore or Seacrets!!!

OUR EXPERIENCE: We do come back about once a year for a fix of white trash ambiance. Always disappointed by the absurd wait for a table. PROS: A place drink, people watch, and/or hook-up (take your pick ... not sure if any of these constitute "Pros"). CONS: Expect to wait a REALLY long time (always more than an hour or two) for a table. Food is average at best. FOOD: Mostly deep fried Diner style food. Average at best. AMBIANCE: Very casual, outside is in the sand. Marina view, near the end of Martins Field runway. SERVICE: Attentive enough. CLEANLINESS: Assuming you are outside (hey it rains ... clean enough). COST: Average ($$). TIPS: Outside bar is cash only. Not sure if they take reservations.

We have been here plenty of times. It's usually with a group of people. Always had a good time there, so my g/f and I went there Sunday night cause she wanted to eat outside, by the waters. Carson's was way too busy and no seating anywhere outside for at least an hour. I suggested we go down the street, at Sunset Cove. When we got there, it was even more busier than Carson's. We were told the wait is about 45 mins for outside seating on the sand. So we approached the bar for a drink while waiting. One bar only takes cash, okay, no problem. Another bar takes cash or cards, so off we went. The bartender was about mid 40's, looks like a gym rat, heavily tanned. My g/f ordered a fruity drink, while I had a miller. Not sure for what reason, he slammed the miller's bottle on the bar, which cause the beer to foam and overflow. That was weird. We waited for over an hour, then decided to put our name down for the indoor seating instead. Apparently, it's 2 different lists for outside and inside, sure, no problem. Meanwhile, we kept our name on the outside seating, just a test to see which one would open up first. We only waited for less than 10 mins, we already got our seats. It was on the deck, outside! The server was good, knows her menu well. The food came out rather quickly. It was okay in my g/f's opinion. Overall experience this time was mixed. Maybe because it was a holiday weekend with the seating, but that one bartender is just flat out weird.

This was hands down the most disappointing experience in recent memory. It started off well enough. The scene and vibe are cool. I rode out to Sunset Cove with a friend and we walked out onto the sand, put our names in, and sat on the dock for about 20 minutes and waited to be called. So far so good. We tried a couple of orange crushes on special for $5 each and they were good...not much to screw up on a drink consisting of orange vodka, sweet orange liquor, orange juice, and Sprite. This crush was tasty and refreshing as expected. We were called and shown to our table. The service was great. Our server was friendly and attentive. Everything happened quickly and pleasantly. Once we ordered things went downhill. We tried the Rockfish Tenders based on a recommendation from a friend. These were gross. These were 4 large hunks of white fish with a THICK tempura batter and a generic chipotle mayo dipping sauce that tasted like it came out of a 5 gallon jug. Presentation was nonexistent. The hunks were laid out on top of some wilted lettuce with no other color beside the bland brown of the fish and the dull green of the lettuce. Even the dipping sauce came on a separate plate, further breaking up the presentation. Admittedly, and similarly to the crush, these tasted good, but they were deep fried heavily battered fish...they tasted like deep fried. There was absolutely no subtlety or hint of creativity present. Next came our Hurricane burger with mushrooms, onion, provolone, and creamy horseradish. This was bad from before it even hit the table. It literally took 10 minutes max from the time the waitress left with our order until she returned with our burger. I've worked in restaurants for over 10 years...this was clearly either someone else's returned order or had just been sitting in the window. It showed when we bit in...our medium rare burger was medium well to well done...no pink anywhere. It was still juicy and the vibe, to be mentioned next, was grating and we didn't want to take the extra time to send the burger back. So our overcooked burger was still juicy but had no flavor whatsoever. My dining partner tried a bite of just the burger without toppings or bun and said it was horrible, tasting like someone had cooked it unseasoned in a oven. The "creamy horseradish" tasted like mayo, nothing more. In one bite I did taste a hint of horseradish but that was just one bite...the rest tasted like it was slathered with mayo, which I hate on my burgers and would have asked them to leave off if I had known the horseradish flavor was so light as to be unnoticeable. The fries were very good. Crispy and abundant. Now the final straw that made us flee back into the city. Sunset Cove is a chill island-themed bar on the bay complete with sand and frequent live music. Think Seacrets of Ocean City in Middle River. But the music they were playing sounded like hype up music you might hear at the end of the night at a bad night club as the DJ tries to raise the energy of the crowd as last call approaches. I felt like I should be in dark, steamy room with bubbles falling from the ceiling. Song after poppy loud grating song passed over us as we longed for anything reggae, country, classic rock, anything mellow that would fit with sand in my toes, a boat drink in my hand, and an afternoon on the bay spread out in front of me. It was such a shame. We went with such high hopes that were completely shattered. My friend says she'll give it another shot. I will not. Why go 25 minutes for overpriced tasteless food and a poor vibe and have to worry about driving when I can walk down to any number of bars and restaurants in Fells and along Boston Street and get the same overpriced food on the water but without the bad music and commute. I suggest you do the same. It's not worth the trip. Stay local. And if Sunset Cove is local, make the trip elsewhere and actually enjoy your Sunday afternoon in the sun.

We've never eaten with out toes in the sand other than at beaches with waves rolling in. I was concerned this might just be a 'gimmick" themed restaurant with mediocre food. I'm so glad the owners of Sunset Cove know that without good food, diners will try the place once and never return. While we did enjoy looking at on the water with a nice breeze keeping us cool, we also enjoyed the food and plan to return again. 3 of us had salads - cool and refreshing, and lots of variety and interesting dressing choices. The other diner decided to try the bar food - a cheeseburger and fries. All of us enjoyed the food, the view, and digging our toes in the sand during our meal. Next visit we'll test the kitchen with more variety and try some of the drinks to make the experience complete.

Menu includes all the Maryland essentials - crab cakes, fish tacos, etc. Food is not bad but view and setting is excellent! Dip your toes in the sand and watch the boats drift on the Chesapeake Bay. We went on a Wednesday night and it was pretty busy. I heard it's pretty packed on the weekends. Not what you expect for a restaurant and bar tucked away near a residential neighborhood. They serve drinks in plastic cups so don't expect anything fancy and you won't be disappointed.

Favorite place to go in the summer! Beautiful scenery, amazing drinks, and great company! My favorite drinks are the orange crushes and traditional fishbowls, which are two for one on Tuesdays. My favorite menu items are the chicken jetty sandwich and crab nachos. You can make reservations on the deck and inside, but not on the beach. I recommend this if you're going with a large group for a meal. If you're looking to hang out the beach is the best place, but there is a two hour limit. The best time to hang out is on a Sunday afternoon. Weekend nights can be a lot of fun, but prepare for long waits to be sat/food delivered and nightmare parking. Blueberry crushes are nasty as is the pasta salad. Scuba Steve at the tiki bar is the best bartender. I think that's all for now! In summary: Great place, just be prepared to be patient! It'll be worth it!

Well, it's not Sequoia at Georgetown Harbor, but it's comfortable, cozy and very friendly. The food is decent and reasonably priced, as are the drinks. But the best thing about this place is the friendly atmosphere and the sense of comradery one feels while visiting here. It's a great place to unwind on a Friday evening after a long work week. If you're looking for something similar to what you might find in Baltimore or Washington, you're probably going to be disappointed with this place. But if you just want to relax, have a drink along with some friendly conversation, this is a pretty good place to get that done.

Scrolling through the internet, I found this place. 45 minute drive, parking on the grass. Didn't mind because I didn't have to pay, so that was okay to me. Took the whole family with me. The building is a big house, that has been converted into a nice restaurant. You have the option to eat indoors or outdoors. We went on Sunday night, they had a Dee Jay and they have a dance platform, to get your dance own. Me and the family had a variety of food. From the Quesada's with crab, to the stuff shrimp, the crabs dip with fries and chicken wings everything was great. I especially enjoyed my chicken cheesesteak that I couldn't finish and had to take home but finished it the next day. It was so much chicken on that sandwich it was crazy. We passed around food like we were at a reunion. I especially enjoyed my coconut mojito. Great spot, Great prices, and great atmosphere. Will definitely be back again

Excellent atmosphere, food is delicious and the staff provide great customer service! Everytime I am here it feels like I'm away at Ocean city/vacation. My favorite appetizer is the crab dip which is served in a bread bowl and my favorite drink is the malibu fishbowl. I absolutely recommend this place!

I was disappointed that there was a $5.00 cover charge. I don't drink, but I was with two friends that did have one drink each. I think if you go straight to the restaurant they don't make you pay the $5.00 cover charge. There is sand everywhere outside to make it have a beachy theme and there is a pier. If you take a drink out on the pier you have to drink it all or throw it away before you can come off the pier and back onto the sand. There was a band, but I didn't think they played that long and I barely listened to them. The wait for a table outside was one hour. We waited for a little while and then asked to be put on the wait list for a table inside the restaurant. That didn't take too long. I thought the prices were a little expensive. I was annoyed that a side salad is an up charge to add as a side and the waitress didn't tell me until I saw it on my bill. I didn't even like the salad because I like iceberg lettuce and this had some kind of weird lettuce. All in all it is an okay place if you like to eat and/or drink on the water, but it isn't one of my favorite places. It is a trendy place to hang out and maybe I just don't fit in since I am in my 30's and don't drink.

I came here for lunch in the middle of the week. So it wasn't hopping and it wasn't sunset. However, they did have quite a few tables in the sand filled with umbrellas and a view of the water. Our server was quick to greet us, quick to get us water, but did have to be reminded of refills. We both had salads, I had the Key West and my friend had the Tilghman Island. Very large and the dressings appeared to be house made. Not a 5 star restaurant as some people have already noted but that's ok. String lighting above the tables probably makes for a nice ambiance at night. I'd love to go back as the sun goes down. I have heard it can be the "Middle River version of Seacrets" which would be disappointing. I'd like a nice classy place by the water to go hang.

The food is good and the locale is perfect. It's not a five star restaurant but it's not trying to be. I think it's about being by the water, laid back atmosphere and friendly staff. If that's what you want, it's perfect. The only reason it didn't get five stars is because it is not about having best cuisine. Would I come back Oh, yeah!

Fun place but rude hostesses and incredibly long waits. We were quoted a 90 minute wait but we were not seated after three hours. Never again! I'm telling friends/family/coworkers, too! Stay away unless you like condescending college brats! My group of six people show up on a busy Saturday evening after a pre-arrival call told us that there was a 45 minute wait. Cool. We can enjoy the fine weather. However, arriving 15 minutes later, this wait had suddenly multiplied and we were quoted two hours to be seated. Okay, I know it's busy. We enjoy the outdoor bar for over an hour. The Margarita I had was pretty darn good and the bartender was quick and courteous. Good times. THEN...the bad stuff started to happen. After two hours had come and gone, a member of our group asked the hostess how long our wait was. She was told 45 minutes. We were not happy but understood. Then when asked about why the wait was so long, she blamed the wait staff, saying "If the servers are making money, why would they want customers to leave...they aren't trying to get customers to leave because they keep buying things." Not exactly the best thing to say, but we tried to overcome this (plus the wait). Finally, 55 minutes after this second discussion, we were seated. The hostess took us to our table without saying a word and literally threw the menus on the table, with at least two menus ending up on the ground (we were seated outside). She made ZERO effort to even apologize, pick up the menus, or wipe them off (did I mention they touched actual dirt/sand?). She stormed off with no verbal interaction. I could have gotten up and left at this point. The hostesses are clearly unprofessional, stuck-up, and disrespectful. The rest of our experience was somewhat better. My wife had the Honey Bear Wrap, which was good but smaller than a Subway wrap, I had Jerk Chicken and a huge portion of french fries, which was good, and the rest of the party had burgers, which were noted as being good but not spectacular. Our waiter was excellent and was a big part of salvaging this visit. I cannot recommend this place to eat, all because of the long wait and the incredibly disrespectful hostesses. It's as if they knew the wait was longer, but wanted our business, so lying was a good idea to them. If you want a few drinks with friends, it's a good spot. Just don't expect to be treated like a human being while getting seated. Pros: Views/Theme, bartender was excellent, food was good but not excellent, good server. Cons: HORRIBLE HOSTESSES, extremely long waits on weekends, children often will swim off of the dock, which does make the seats wet sometimes.

Food is just average in my opinion. I got the billyburger which looked great, but just wasn't rich in flavor. The tomatoes on it were probably the worst part as they weren't ripe and completely lacked flavor. The environment there is great when the weather is warm. Great beach feel with outdoor tables and a deck, along with a dock to bring your boat and tie up.

We've been here twice now, I'm not sure we'll make it back for a third visit. The location is very nice, right on the water which is pleasant on a good day. The service is just awful and there is usually a wait for a table. We arrived on a Sunday for lunch and were seated on the deck because the tables below were full. It was clear that food was not coming out of the kitchen very fast. It took 45 minutes after we ordered for our french fry appetizer, another 15 for our lunch. The food wasn't awful, but nothing special. We had to flag down our server when we needed anything. I don't know if she was just bad or if they were short staffed and she was just too busy. I'll try to find another similar place in the area.

There aren't any tables in the water, but everything else resembles a Mini-Seacrets on the Bay... Sunset Cove is right on the Water with Sand, lots of Palm Trees for Shade, an Outdoor Tiki Bar, an Outdoor Pit Beef Grill, live music, friendly bar tenders & wait staff, and friendly dock hands to easily get you in and out even when the boats are rafted 5-wide off their 300 foot pier. For all of those yelpers that constantly give dock bars bad reviews expecting Mario Batali or Wofgang Puck to be sipping an orange crush back in the kitchen while preparing their meal, this is the one dock bar in all of Maryland that might surprise you... Try the Mango Salsa covered Rockfish Tacos (Rocko's Tacos), or their Chesapeake Seafood bake in a puff pastry, or their fall of the bone Caribbean Ribs slathered in Bahamian Ju Ju sauce. Definitely not the typical bar food one comes to expect at a typical Chesapeake Bay dock bar. And if you want a signature drink with along with one of their signature dishes. Try their giant margarita for two with an upside down Corona precariously balanced in the glass or one of their fishbowl drinks. BEWARE... This place is POPULAR. So if you're coming by car or even boat, arrive early if you want to find a spot to park

Great local place! We are locals and go year round. A little too busy for us in the summer so we go during the week and avoid weekends. During the winter we go 2-3 times a week. Love the wait staff and specials. Great food. Nice people. Even better drinks! We love the atmosphere.

MY ADVICE do not go here for dinner when a band is playing outside. Memorial weekend we were asked to PAY A $5 COVER TO EAT IN THE DINING ROOM! Yes, I even called and spoke with the manager to ask why this tacky policy was suddenly required for dinner quests when we never had to pay before. Maybe if you were going to the sandy area and bar but not for the dining room. I was told that the band for Memorial weekend 2015 was "very expensive" and Sunset Cove was passing the cost to customers. UGH! They were telling dinner guests that we could be refunded if you take your receipt to the guy collecting the $5 AND PROVE you were in the restaurant only. OMG how embarrassing for our group of friends and relatives. We ended up leaving. They lost some loyal dinner customers with that dumb idea, and honestly, they don't make enough on the drinks from the beach crowd over a holiday weekend to compensate for the band cost? My suggestion, build customers and hire a cheaper band.

Great location for dates, the only bad thing about here is the racial disparity. Basically, if you don't feel comfortable being around too many Caucasians, this isn't for you. Come during the day instead when its less crowded. i LOVE the steak and the corn on the cob. They also have live music on weekends.

Food was good and tastym We sat outside. Service was great. Two things that lost stars however. My miller draft was about room temperature. I oredered the burger that has onion straws and crab meat. It was very good, however, there was little to no crab meat or onion straws. It was what i would call "a pinch". like you would use for salt in a recipe. wasnt even enough onion straws or crab meat to spread across the burger to have some in every bite. Shame, when I was able to taste the crab and straws it made the burger better than just your run of the mill cheeseburger.

Had dinner here tonight and we were seated right away inside. Ordered the crabby Mac and cheese as an app! It was delicious! I really enjoyed my time at sunset cove. The atmosphere is laid back and relaxing. I cannot wait to come back once it gets warmer to sit outside and have some drinks!! The service was also wonderful!

Cool story bro, did you meet on Match? Nope... not this time! I have this rule of dating.. one that requires I try and steer clear of my older brother's friends. I put this rule into place considering that the last two bros of his just didn't seem to work out and it put a strain on my brother's friendships. But then again... when do I ever listen to my own voice of reason? Although I must admit that I am not at fault for initiating conversation or "creepin"... this guy went straight to the source (my bro) to gain the scoop on little ol' me. So when he messaged me, well (of course) I responded. We have talked for a wee while now, and although on the face of it he wasn't the usual kind of guy I'd normally go for, I knew pretty early on that he'd be an evening well spent regardless of whether there was any chemistry or not. I mean...he'd been playful and we'd already had some solid banter through text - so I figured and hoped that it would at least be an enjoyable evening out. I let him have the choice of where to meet, in which he responded Sunset Cove since he was there already for a birthday party. I'd say the destination worked out rather well because I needed a break from the big city. I met him outside the bar and to my overwhelming relief, he looked exactly like his picture. He was very cute, wearing a backward O's cap.. which could melt this Baltimorean girl's heart. Sunset Cove provided wonderful scenery - located right on a sandy man-made beach with a moving dock for boats and jet skis to pull right on up. The bar was open and airy and the crowd wasn't too rowdy for a Monday night. Because his friends were celebrating Birthday Shenanigans, drama was sure to escalate but he kept a pretty calm demeanor through it all. Upon sitting down he grabbed me a menu from the bar, introduced me to all his friends and asked if I wanted a drink. Nice - clearly not too frightened of me at second sight to commit to more than one drink. I unusually ordered (for me, at least) a cheesesteak with chips. It was absolutely on point. The meat wasn't dry, the bread was toasted just right and there were onions and peppers on this somewhat greasy, yet delectable sandwich goddess. The atmosphere allowed for pretty solid conversation, which covered a lot of mutual ground, law enforcement, careers, cheating girlfriends and how awful I am about keeping a serious straight face. So when it was time to close down the date, he walked me to my car, bantered about my unlikelihood to hold a straight face and walked away. No hug? Well I guess that went well? Rather I just jumped into my car and rode off into the sunset alone. Will there be another meet and greet with this guy? Well.. let's keep things light and I'll keep you posted. All in all, Sunset Cove is a local bar that provides unique scenery, good cheesesteak's and an inviting atmosphere. It is definitely a place for groups, but if you can manage to pull off a date here - that dude may be a keeper.

My wife and son went to Sunset cover this past weekend. I had wanted to go for a while because of the cool location. It was a great experience. Beautiful setting. Although they dropped the ball on our spot on the wait list for a table (they forgot to transfer our name from an old page to a new one), when I asked about the problem, they gave us the next table (about 1 minute later). The waiter (Greg, I think) was very attentive despite having a lot of tables in his area. My drink was never empty. The food was timely. No problem getting the check or paying. The food was good. I had the crab cake sandwich. I didn't find a single shell in the crabcake. And, it was a good size. My wife got he salmon. She really loved the green sauce on it. Lastly, my son left his iphone on the table. Didn't notice until we were home, and we don't live close by. I called when we got home, and they immediately identified the phone for us and told us they would keep it in a safe place until we could get back. VERY NICE! I'll definitely go back whenever the weather is nice. Highly recommend. Thanks Sunset!

If you've read my reviews before - you know I tell the "Good" the "Bad" & the "Ugly"! I was tempted to only give this place ONE STAR but gave it TWO for the following reasons: 1-Star for: LOCATION - this place is located on the water with a dock for boaters and has an outdoor seating area with sand and palm trees. They also have live music on the weekends. It's very nice to hang out for a few drinks. TIP: Jason S. - their bartender in the Pit beef hut is awesome! Go see him - he makes great orange crushes!!! 1-Star for: FRIED GREEN TOMATOES - my fiance and I absolutely LOVED this appetizer. It was a bit pricier then I would have expected, but the lump crab and cream sauce combined with the crispy perfectly fried green tomatoes just melts in your mouth. Now for the BAD & the UGLY: PARKING - We did NOT have a reservation and arrive by car around 6:00 PM. Although there were (and I counted) a total of 7 open parking spaces right in the restaurants parking lot (and I'm not talking about the parking lot reserved for boaters) we were made to park up the street in the yard of a home nearby. It did not cost us to park, but I am recovering from a broken foot and needless to say this was a MAJOR inconvenience and pointless when so many close parking spots were available. It should be "first come first served"! STRIKE ONE! SERVICE - as I mentioned, we did not have a reservation. We were told there was a 25 - 35 minute wait for a table. No problem! We took the pager they offered us and trucked it outside to the tiki bar and had a drink while waiting. We waited about 25 minutes and the pager went off. Great - we were starving and they kept it within the time frame they stated. So we are seated. And we wait...and we wait...15 minutes later our waitress (who walked past us 5 times earlier) finally came over to take our drink order...said she would "be right back" to take our food order. 30 minutes later we had to go find her. She admittedly FORGOT about us and she offered to buy us drinks on the house. Ok - this happens every once in a while - everyone has a bad day...so we cut her some slack....but nevertheless STRIKE TWO! KITCHEN - I ordered the following: App. - Fried Green Tomatoes, Ent. - Grilled Romaine Salad with Blackened Chicken. My Fiance Ordered: App. - Bacon Wrapped Shrimp Ent. - Conch Chowder We waited, and waited, watched two other table be seated AFTER we placed our order, watched them BOTH receive their food...still waited...I had had ENOUGH. I requested the manager. He apologized and followed up with the kitchen. 10 minutes later out came our food. FRIED GREEN TOMATOES - No complaint! They were awesome. BACON WRAPPED SHRIMP - Good flavor but this dish was obviously sitting at the pass under heaters as the BBQ sauce was dry and sticky on top. CONCH CHOWDER - Couldn't find ONE piece of Conch in the chowder. Tasted more like Maryland Crab soup without the Crab. GRILLED ROMAINE SALAD W/ BLACKENED CHICKEN - The salad had a great flavor but it was served WITHOUT MY CHICKEN! Ughh...the last straw. MANAGER - We spoke to the manager again and complained about the overall experience. He apologized but offered nothing more. No discount - no drink - no "Here's 20% off your next Bill - please come back and try us again...just I'm sorry. Well Sunset Cove - I am SORRY too but beyond drinks in the sand and some fried green tomatoes IF we come by boat...you will not be seeing us as regulars in your restaurant. STRIKE THREE!!

My buddy and I come here for the cheap, tasty steaks on Mondays and Wednesdays. The place looks great outside with the beach/dockside decor; the interior is okay, but at least the plentiful HD screens are nice. The wait staff are friendly. At night, the long pier in the back is awesome.

A hidden gem. When the weather is nice and the Nazis don't show up, it's a near-perfect spot to spend an evening. Yes, the first time I went, actual Nazis with actual swastika tattoos and swastika patches on their motorcycle vests showed up. What a downer. It must suck to be the world's biggest party-poopers. But the second and third visits were hate-free (or pride-free, for you racists). Nice soft sand underfoot. Orange and grapefruit crushes, beers, and other cocktails. Tiki bar. Great view of the water. Solid food with normal prices. You might catch a DJ or local band. Good times. Don't come for fast food in a hurry. Come to while away an evening with friends and watch the sun go down.

Based on the other reviews I read, they must have revamped their service, I went here with my girlfriend and we absolutely loved it here, the outdoor seating in the sand was a pleasant touch to the experience, made us not want to leave because it was so relaxing to have your feet in the sand! Drinks were decently priced and the crushes were amazing. Service was maybe a little slow, but based on the mass of people, it really wasn't terrible, our sever checked on us every chance he had and when we ordered our food, it was at our table within 20 minutes. We ordered the mussels, which were the biggest mussels I've ever had, And they were amazing, didn't try anything else but by creeping on the other tables, all the food looked great. Definitely give this place a shot if you love dining near the water with sand between your toes!

One thing we cannot argue about this place is the location and scenario!!!! Great place to watch the sunset and feel that you are not in a city, but rather in a little vacation somewhere. Having said that, the customer service sucks... OMG... it takes FOREVER for you to be seen by a waiter, and then forever for your order to come!!! I understand that in the nice weather seasons the place is packed, but please, in this case HIRE more people and give only two tables to each one of them, so they can FOCUS and give better attention to the customers. The food is right!!!! They salads are really good and the fried green tomatoes almost perfect!!!! The other down side is the MUSIC... sometimes it is SO FREAKING LOUD, we can't barely talk and instead of relaxing and enjoying the little paradise, you end up stressed and feeling in a stupid drunk college kid movie. Please SUNSET COVE... hire more people for this Spring/Summer 2014 and turn down the volume of your insanely overly loud speakers. Besides that, it is a nice place to go!!!!

My cousin and I put together a 30th birthday celebration at Sunset Cove for my other cousin this past Friday night. It went off without a hitch! Scott and Jackie were so helpful in making sure our tables were set up on the beach, they provided us with two wonderful servers who kept the madness straight. The food was good and brought out quickly. The kept our cake and cupcakes cold and brought them out when we wanted them. It was a great night. I will be returning. I agree with Billy F.---This is a hidden gem! I'm a big fan of the Sunset Cove! The staff is always friendly and the food is outstanding! Don't forget the weekly steak specials!!!! Great food at great prices! If you're looking for a great Summertime atmosphere to enjoy the fresh air, Sunset Cove is the place to be! With it's own waterfront and beach area, outside bar and great live music, this is the place to be! During the winter hours, Sunset Cove is working hard to make the you just as comfortable with indoor and outdoor deck seating. The deck is a nice size and is enclosed with a vinyl enclosure. Outdoor heaters are set up to keep you nice and toasty and trust me, they do work. I've sat under or near them--they work! Sunset Cove has an indoor bar that is a decent size and they have tv's to watch the local sports teams. I frequent the Sunset Cove nearly every week and bring my family. Overall, the food is excellent and the prices are fantastic. Manager Chuck and his crew are doing an outstanding job of renovating the facility and it looks like bigger and better things are to come. Overall, you should have an enjoyable time at Sunset Cove!

Sunset Cove has great food and drinks. I had the very berry salad for $11 and it was HUGE. I thought the price was a little high but I was impressed when it came out. You could easily split it between 3 people. My mom had the Rocko's Tacos (rockfish tacos with a mango topping) and they were really good! The drinks were great as well. I'm a huge fan of the sunfish which is one of their "skinny" drinks with vodka and simple syrup. The atmosphere at sunset is really nice and I'll go back again for sure.

The customer service of the manager and staff was so unbearable that I cancelled my reservation for 30 people!!! Having worked in the restaurant biz for the majority of my life, I was shocked and so disappointed that a place that is only open seasonally would be so callous about catering a birthday party on a Saturday night. First, they said they would take the reservation and work with us on the budget but told us it was a "mystery" buffet and they didn't know what would be available but it was $25 per person. And then when I asked for more details on the menu, their response was that they don't normally do reservations this large... Like they were doing us a favor! ...Regardless, the reservation was cancelled and I WILL NEVER go to this place!

Had a wonderful late lunch here with friends on a Sunday adternoon around 1:00. We sat at a table on the beachcg and had great service. We ordered a round of drink, and then shortly ordered our meals. We decided on the Veggie wrap, Grilled Romaine salad with crabcake, the Guido Italian Cold cut and the Fried Green Tomatos as a lunch instead of appetizer. The Grilled Romaine salad with crabcake was wonderful it came with mozzarella, tomatoes, parm cheese, and drizzled with balsamic vinegar, the crabcake was perfect, not too much filler. The Veggie Wrap was very good as well. The Italian Coldcut was very dry and nit a favorite. The Fried Green tomatoes came with crabmeat ontop with a light cream sauce, it was enough for a smaller person to eat for lunch. We really enjoyed our lunch and stayed for a few more rounds of drinks. They have indoor seating as well and pretty decent outdoor bathroom facilities. If you come by boat they have docking available but the place seems to be very popular. We will be back!

What restaurant owner turns away business?!?! I would love to go back and try the food instead of just chilling by the tiki bar, but don't know if I will take my business back their due to poor management,

Food was decent, drinks were moderately priced, but service was mediocre. Whether a slow kitchen or just severely understaffed (which didn't seem apparent), server seemed non-responsive, forgetful and frankly non-personable. Would recommend coming for drinks as they were very attentive to refill our beverages; however, I'd recommend spending dinner money elsewhere.

Stopped in on the Saturday over Memorial Day weekend. After entering we were confused as to how to proceed because the hostess(we'll call her "sunshine") who looked depressed or hungover wasn't very eager to help us. I wanted to wave a smelling salt just to make sure she was alive. So we were given a beeper and told to wait. So we went to the bar for a beverage. I went back to the hostess desk to ask if the pager would vibrate when ready, cause of course I wasn't instructed. And with a brief nod as she looked up from her iphone I was confirmed. At this point I thought I was being punk'd. So we were finally seated after a reasonable wait. And our dinner service was good considering business level. Food was very good and Tom, our server, was friendly and as attentive as can be expected. As we left I glanced at "sunshine" one last time and had to laugh. Thank goodness my expectations were risen after my first impressions of Sunset Cove.

On the fence between 3 and 4 stars, and went w) 3 just because they didn't truly achieve a 4. Went w) wifey and another couple (by boat... they have a dock!) to celebrate wifey getting bonus at work, and to thank our neighbors for taking good care of our cats while we were away. We got one appetizer to share, and a variety of entrees ranging from dinner salad to pasta to ribs. All was good but not great. Ribs were very spicy, as I can attest! Prices seemed a tad high for the food, being that nothing was particularly outstanding. Salad especially seemed overpriced, though it was large and nicely done. I was pleasantly surprised that they had some decent craft ales on draught (VERY rare in the burbs of eastern Baltimore County, which are dominated by domestic crap!), though one was unfortunately out. Waitress was good with attentiveness - especially for drinks, go figure - but was pretty daft when it came to menu knowledge. All in all, a pretty good place to eat for this neck o' the woods, as long as you don't mind paying a few extra bucks for entrees. Didn't really note the sandwich pricing.

We went on a Saturday afternoon for lunch. The hostess was a little short on personality, but promptly showed us to our table on the beach. It was a very nice crowd. Almost every table was occupied. Our server, I think her name was Christy, was prompt and courteous. She was incredibly fast in getting our drinks to us. We each had a sandwich. I had the roasted portabella and vegetable sandwich and my friend got the cubana sandwich. Both were delicious. I skipped the fries which looked fabulous at the next table. I asked for the Mediterranean pasta salad. It was a little heavy on the dressing, but, I ate every last bite. Great flavor. When our drinks were low, our server showed up and was back with another round before we finished our last sip. Obviously, that's very important to me. I was impressed with how many servers and bussers there were. They all moved around quickly and efficiently. The tables were cleared and cleaned as soon as they were vacated. It's so nice to see this place run properly, finally! It's such a great location, but I gave up going back in the past because the food always sucked. I look forward to going back while the weather is still nice.
